Hi Ray, Since you have no budget for sine wave, the best, low cost modified square wave we have sold is the GoPower GP-300W. We sell it in our retail store for $39.
Actually that statement needs to be qualified; the BEST mod. square wave inverter we have ever sold/installed was the Powerstar 1300. It could EASILY start an RV roof air conditioner.
