Hello Friends,
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Hyper Engineering's soft start devices for motor starting on off-grid systems. I have a customer with a mountain cabin who has a huge Franklin Electric 3hp 240v well pump and since he isn't there much and his other AC loads are minimal I want to minimize the inverter sizing if possible. Locked rotor current on this thing is 83A, which is tough to deal with. These guys claim their product can reduce locked rotor starting current by up to 70%. Anyone tried the device? Thoughts?
Thanks for any wisdom you can offer.
