I don't know that there are any new sources for NiFe batteries and the last
ones were either from China and Hungary. While they were advertised as new,
some at least arrived in obviously used condition. They are reputed to be
nearly indestructible, but I've seen piles of used recycled ones. They do
have some good features such as easy recyclability, and use KOH as the
electrolyte so you don't have to worry about spills. If the price was good
and they are from a reliable source these could be good.
