I'd second the ground vault. We used either the plastic cargo boxes (for
up to 4 batteries) or the Greenlee job boxes for up to 12 batteries. We
add foam board to the outside, which keeps the metal from being in
direct contact with the soil. Like Todd noted, it can really moderate
the temp swings. It will basically maintain at roughly the avg temp for
the time of year, if not closer to the year round avg. If you're
interested, I can post a picture, it comes out looking pretty slick.

Have you considered a burried, underground vault? We did this with
broadcast equipmentwhen I did that work years ago and it worked great
at moderating high/low temp swings.

Dear Wrenches:
I have people trying to power medical equipment in an extremely hot
environment--they need batteries that can withstand temps of 75
degrees Celcius.
The Yuasa batteries they've been using are only rated to 50C and don't
last long (and thus, are cost-prohibitive to use and replace).
The MK AGMs are also only rated to 50C. Any ideas or alternatives
would be appreciated.
