We do a Nominal battery voltage / max battery equalization voltage /
polarity of system ground label on the battery box.
Also a label warning of explosive gasses, no smoking / open flame or spark /
connections are live
As well as a plaque outdoors indicating the presence of a standalone
electrical power system is present and the location(s) of the means of
disconnect

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Battery Box Labeling

Wrenches,

Doing a quick scan of the NEC I did not find any labeling requirements
for battery boxes. I also did not turn up anything on the list
archives either. I'd be interested in what labeling other installers
are using. It seems to me something should be in place for fire
fighters. The box will contain a 500 Ah battery bank consisting of
eight AGM batteries.

Thanks
