We have an opportunity to do two small scale 24Vdc lighting systems at
an off-grid location run off PV and batteries. We're talking maybe 8-12
LED fixtures drawing 30-50W each (on motion sensors). However, we might
want to plan for future expansion. Question: what are you doing for DC
distribution in cases like this? I am considering a Midnite DC
disconnect box with DIN rail mounted DC breakers. Otherwise, I might go
with a class T fuse and holder with a Square D QO load center.

In each case I am looking at a small battery bank and appropriate PV
with a Morningstar controller. Any thoughts on PV circuit protection?

The system we are replacing is kind of sad, using inline automotive
fuses and a lot of exposed wiring. Ultimately, it would be nice to have
a flexible but completely integrated system.
