Hi Kirk, First, a couple of questions: 1) what is "larger Enphase systems" (number of load centers) and 2) what roof angle?
Now, if you buy into the hype that, with Enphase, shading is a minor detail, you may want to consider using something like one or more cupola(s) to mount the standard load centers upright (and prettier). An AC version of the Outback combiner would be, IMHO, definitely preferable. I want several combiner / discos on the roof and it won't look very pretty to have them mounted vertically. Thanks.
