Solar Power and Pumps (http://solarpowerandpump.com/) in Elk City OK
is scaling back their involvement with Lorentz pumps, in favor of
their own line called SunRotor. I called and was told they will
continue to support Lorentz with parts, etc. Lorentz are currently
on sale. The one recent time I worked with them on a customer's failed Lorentz pump their service was excellent. We quit Lorentz about 5 years ago due to numerous failures, but are willing to reconsider the line now. Windy explained that the Chinese manufacturer's supplier of rubber helical rotor stators changed compounds at one point, causing all sorts of problems, and Lorentz didn't step up, admit the problem and fix it until too late. My main reasons are the poor CS from Grundfos, the inability to rebuild the pump in the field and the electronics down the hole. In addition Lorentz has a huge line of DC pumps up to 45gpm and soon beyond even that. I often use GenPro as my supplier they are in SD. I've yet to have a customer need to bypass the solar to run a Grundfos on a genny, true it is a great talking and selling point but in reality it is rarely needed if you size for their needs properly on solar. |
