it is a pipe dream, but I would like to think that designers, engineers, and knowledgeable installers will one day be able to accurately understand the irradiance and temperature impacts on I-V curves so that manufacturers will be unable to use inaccurate information to sell their wares. Amen Bill,

I just installed a system very similiar , SE array paired with SW array. Performance is good and I will be monitoring over the next year to gain kwh performance data. But generally , as long as the strings are equal, modest mismatch problems are minimal.

my two cents,

To clarify, I am talking about modest array orientation mismatch for identical strings sharing a common single inverter input. Marv's point about cell temp vs ambient is a good one and does complicate the analysis a bit.
