I saw and tried out the Milwaukee "sub-scanner" at the NECA show in Seattle. I haven't ever got my hands on the Bosch unit, so I can't give a comparison. The Milwaukee really needs to have a smooth surface to roll along, so I don't think it will work on comp shingle roofs. It probably would work fine on tile roofs once you remove a few tiles to get down to the roof deck. I did mention to the Milwaukee rep that there would be a significant market at their price point if they could design a tool that could "see" through comp shingles accurately. He hinted that they were working on it...
