Not meaning to open up a can of worms, but along these lines, what do y'all
think of the way Sharp frames are connected/sealed?

William,

I have done the procedure before.
I used RTV silicone.
The hard part was cleaning out some of the old sealant in the frame.
After seeing enough modules that look like they were sealed by preschoolers,
you might end up with a longer lasting seal than the manufacturer.
