Yes. I thought of that so we turned on a few hundred watts. Same
problem. The Splindide power board is causing the issue. I tried RF
filtering, twisting inverter leads, EMI AC filter. Nothing would work.
It's really weird that a cheap import inverter would operate it.

Hi Larry,
Did this occur even if there were other loads on?

Hi Jeff,
I am not sure if this relates to your issue but there is an issue
with Magnum inverters and Splindide washers. Splindide will not
work on a Magnum sine wave. They are aware of this. Here is a copy
of my old post to the list:
....I have a recent power issue come up with a Magnum inverter. A
customer tried to operate her Splindide washer/dryer but the motor
would not start. I looked at the waveform with a scope and RMS
voltage and frequency were fine. The waveform looked good until the
motor tried to start. The washer was putting a jagged noise riding
on the sine wave. The voltage and waveform still looked OK other
than the noise. I was mostly sure that this was the cause so I
grabbed a 600 watt cheap import sine wave inverter and connected
the washer. Same ripple was present on the waveform but the $400
inverter would run the washer motor fine. It also runs fine with a
1600 watt Honda inverter/generator.

Not sure if anyone offered this already - The DR will do a 5 sec.
surge to 6200W the Outback will do a 5 sec. surge to 4800W. This
is common, most mod's will surge considerable more than Sine's,
that is the big trade off other than power quality and tare
losses. In addition I'm very skeptical that the Staber only surges
to 11A, have you measured the actual surge? When I replaced my
good 'ol Trace 2512 (too many appliances disliked the mod. sine)
and went to a Magnum 2812 my washer would kick it out as my washer
surged to 31A and the Mag. would do 30! This is a modern Horz.
axis machine. I now have the Magnum and a new Vanner ITC 12-3200W
that does a 3 sec. surge to 6400W and will even run my wire welder
and air compressor, both used to be genny only loads.
