Check out SatCon's 100 kW off-grid hybrid inverter:

325 VDC nominal battery voltage. Built-in PV charge controller with MPPT. Generator input. Not UL listed, but Satcon may be susceptible to prodding in that direction.

These are built to order. SatCon has been running a couple of these behind the fence at an APS installation for a few years now, so they've logged some miles on the design.

May be overkill for your job, Mark, but it does raise the bar on "how large is too large."
