I'm pretty sure the meter option for the C40 controller is still in production, and should be easy to find. The model number has changed, however. What was formerly the C40DVM is now CM for the faceplate version, and CM/R-50 for the remote mount version with 50' cord. CM/R-100 gets a 100' cord.
The model number change makes sense because the same meters will also work with C35 & C60 controllers.
