not exactly shoes, but we use sheets of the egg crate type foam for work
space on up to 12/12 roofs.
I do mostly hot water work, and that requires having more things handy
(torch, flux, solder, cutter, reamer, etc ) than will fit easily in a
tool belt. it allows us to set little things down without them rolling
away, and protects the roof and us from hot days. one can easily sit on
a 12/12 roof without slipping or damaging the roof.

Previous to that we required Vans, as they are “grippy” but not
aggressive. They were suggested by roofers after some very hot days.
We also use a product called the Spaghetti Mat to help protect the roof.
