I have successfully used homebrewed water heater loops through woodstove
fire boxes for many years. Doesn't
HAVE to be a "coil" but coiling does save space. The latest one was what
you might call serpentine using S.S>
elbows and nipples (assembled then welded) 2 inch. Works fine. The only
time I had a Holt-style "Boom" was when
I inadvertently let it freeze by not draining it completely in freezing
weather. First fire before it thawed DID
let some steam out in an impressive manner. Take care to provide
