I've used a lot of SolarSkies panels. (they are essentially AET panels,
made by a licensee in northern minnesota)
the price point is good, quality and support is top notch.
your location can change what makes sense unless you're buying in the
kind of quantity that shipping isn't a big deal. probably by the semi
load.
heliodynes are nice, and the output is stellar, but the price can be a
killer. in nearly every case for me, the question is bang for the
buck. I think the SS panels do that very nicely. their mounting systms
are very nice too. heliodyne was always kind of a PITA.
does anyone here know if the veissman collectors are supposed to be
plumbed direct return (inlet and outlet on the same end of the array) or
reverse return? the pressure drop across the 3/4 header probably isn't
much, but it just seems wrong. a local installer whose systems I've
been servicing is installing up to 10 panels (270 ish SF) direct return,
at about 4 gpm.
