Dear all, I am really happy to say that Riccardo and I finished the python3 porting work this week. I had assumed that this was going to be a lot of work, but it ended up being even more than I thought. But now it's done: the python3-support branch in github ( https://github.com/rdkit/rdkit/tree/python3-support) passes all tests with both python 2.7 and python 3.4.
The test coverage is good, but it's nowhere near perfect, so there are undoubtedly small things left to do. Since I'm going to be out this coming week, I guess that it's probably better not to merge the changes onto the trunk just yet. I will plan to merge the changes early next week (probably on the 21st). Between now and then, we would be very happy to hear about successes or problems that people encounter using the new version. Thanks again to Riccardo for the thought and effort that he's put into this. -greg
