Just an FYI, this is the seller's 4th relisting, all at the same price.
Doesn't seem in a hurry to move it...

I also have no connection to the seller/item.

As for these disclaimers, I've seen them on most hardware-focused lists and
forums since I started giggling the interweb (isn't giggle that search
motor all the young'ns use?). Since anybody can be anybody in cyberspace,
it's a way to make clear the poster has no commercial interest in the post.

If this seems overly-formal or unnecessary, just wait until you see what
happens when somebody with an undisclosed commercial interest does
surface---quite the feeding frenzy. Usually starts with a new member
posting: "Hey, just saw this widget on ebay. What do you think about the
widget and the price?" When it turns out, 10 or 15 posts later, the poster
is the seller, all heck can break loose. Seller/poster says: "Gee, I wasn't
trying to be deceptive, only trying to figure out what my widget was and if
my pricing was reasonable. I'm not a widget expert like y'all." The polite
responders point out a simple initial disclaimer would have eliminated any
appearance of deception. The impolite ones are already flooding the
poster's inbox with unpleasantness.

As Philip also pointed out, disclaimers also minimize offlist requests for
info about an item the poster doesn't possess or have an interest in. There
is also the specter of uninvited lowball offers. Lowballing may not be an
issue in a friendly forum like this, but you might be surprised by how many
uninvited: "Way overpiced! I'll give you $250 for it." messages you can
receive for the very fairly priced $1k item you posted.
