I have similar issues with the mirror placement on my Riv with moustache
handlebars.  I'm used to seeing knuckles in my rear view, now.

On my Schwinn KOM, I put the mirror horizontal underneath/ahead of the
grip.  Are albatross bars wide enough for this kind of placement?  This
gets me an unobstructed rear view, and uses the width/convex shape of the
mirror to its most potential.
