I guess that one man's touring bike is another's off-road bike -- if it's
not his road bike. From my short distance, rear-load-only experience with
my Ram, I'd have to say that "touring bike" is a category that covers a lot
of ground. In my experience, the Ram could very nicely carry 40 lb of gear,
if 10-15 lb were carried in front. (Well, actually, I don't have any
experience of carrying 15 lb on the front of a Ram, but the Ram *does* carry
30 lb in the rear with complete aplomb, and I *suspect* that the Ram would
handle 15 lb on Tubus Duos perfectly well. For what *that's* worth.)

Perhaps the take away message here is ...(loud chords) ... *versatility!* Who'd
'a thunk?
