I finished the 200k on Saturday with my persimmon Ram. My first brevet. I
hadn't done any training except one 75 miler two weeks ago, and my 14 mile
commute across san francisco and back. I wasn't very fast; I wouldn't be
surprised to learn that I was the last one in. If you don't mind a certain
amount of pain and discomfort, you don't need to train. The time limits are
pretty generous. The ride though might have been more enjoyable with more
preparation and training. I'm looking forward to finding out on my next one.
