At first I misread your question as if you were mixing a 36 RIM with a 32 
hub... NOW THAT would be something.  Otherwise mixing wheels to me seems 
normal.  I have a touring bike with 40 on the rear and 36 on the front.  I 
guess the theory being the rear handles greater load (makes sense).
