5"11", roughly 86 PBH, my primary (only) functional bike at the moment
being a 59cm '92 Bridgestone XO-1.

I can't run tires bigger than just under 1.5" actual, and as currently shod
in 1.25", the proportions are admittedly a little unsettling at first
glance.

I can't tell you how many people have offered up the purportedly helpful
advice that my bike is waaaay too big for me. I have more than a fistful of
seatpost showing, a healthy inch of straddle room, and could quite happily
go for another centimeter or two of top tube.

But I don't blame them. It looks like a *6*9cm until you realize those are
mountain wheels.

Steering is... lively with small wheels and narrowish tires, but I can get
used to just about any bike after an hour or two. Seconding iamkeith above,
acceleration is quite quick, which makes it fun on trails.

I'll be building up a 1986 Diamondback Apex in a couple of weeks for LA
commuter duty, and though I've never actually seen the frame in person, I'm
guessing it's about 58x60 C-to-C. I have no plans to put anything bigger
than 1.75" on it, so will report back on how she goes out on the mean
streets.
