thanks for all the good wishes and congrat's; startled with joy every day!

on shovelling & warmth: as per Deacon Patrick's description, it's a wind
shell so provides no warmth itself but rather prevents the warmth from
being blown away. All dependent on your activity and layers under it.

on price: I think the jackets are extremely fairly priced. but to the
casual observer or to someone who isn't in a position to spend the money
then I am conscious of the price, especially when there's two jackets and
the person is aware of the price. I am not an extravagant person, but I do
prioritize and have wonderful bicycles and cold weather gear. To the
non-casual observer, one will immediately grasp–as per Ron's point–that
these jackets will really last a long time. Longer than my fancy long gone
gortex jacket of yesteryear that for it's time was more expensive than the
English Riding Jacket.

on the jacket: I continue to love it. didn't regret getting the men's
model even after seeing the women's model was delivered. I like more
toggles, longer length, straighter sides. wore it this morning at 5 below
, albeit for a very short dog walk and then in the car, over a heavy wool
sweater, down sweater, neck gaitor, and fur trapper hat. Was just fine.
wouldn't have been waiting for a bus, but for riding it might've been too
much.

on living the life: yes, at my age with my kid grown and both of us having
adult jobs I can visit my family in NZ with Bike Fridays every 3-5 years
and it is wonderful. Expect pictures!

on the pair of us with our jackets: I'll try to take and post a photo over
the weekend.

more on photos: yes, there will be pictures of Riv Chica Warrior on her
Proto-palloosa custom with English Riding Jacket and hatchet. I get more
and more kenspreckle every day. That's part of living the life and being
startled with joy!
