I've gotta throw these two DIY options in to the mix.

The supercat alcohol stove made from a Fancy Feast can is crazy light and 
boils a couple cups of water in less than 10 minutes:

The hobo stove will use anything you can find for fuel, including alcohol 
or wood: http://www.ultimate-ultralight-backpacking.com/hobo-stove.html
There may be better instructions than that around. It's less efficient but 
more flexible.

I've never found either of these to leave scars on a picnic table, but I 
suspect it is a possibility.
