You Riv-folks seem to be into off road riding a lot so I figured I'd ask.

There is a section of a commute-route I am pondering that takes me along
what looks like an abandoned dirt road made and used by construction crews
for their big vehicles.
It cuts through a wooded area, runs along a river, and looks to be wide and
clear. I am gonna hopefully try it out soon and see how it goes. Looks like
fun and hopefully will be nice riding in such a secluded and private area.

I am Sam bar-ending with drops and just don't want to get bounced and
tossed off the bike during all the bumpiness.
I use Marathons at 55psi.
I guess go slow and keep it in a gear that you can just stay in the whole
time?
What should I look out for/avoid on these types of dirt runs?

Thanks for any advice.
