Not every day you ride long and hard enough to make you take the bus back...

Rode this route with Brian last time but do to the hot weather in the
summer we had to cut the ride short. We figured this time around the
weather should be cooler. Not a chance.

Brian, Carlin, Eric and I started off early on a typical foggy day in San
Francisco. Once we crossed the bridge the fog and cool weather was done for
and the rest of the day was quite pleasant. Until we had our first flat of
the day. Like most typical flats we jokingly made fun of the guy who got
the flat. Little did we know that Brian's flat problems would continue for
the rest of the day. Before jumping on the trail head Brian gets another
flat trying to do the extra credit mini pump track on our way to Fairfax.
Nothing stop at a bike shop
First time we rode this route Brian and I took the steepest route possible,
we later found out that there was a longer but less steeper route to get to
the main trail. We opted for the easier route only because we really wanted
to finish the whole ride this time.
We were rewarded with not only the easier trail but with amazing views of
Sausalito and beyond. The truffle brie was a good choice for this cheese
stoppage.
Our ride down was one of my favorite single track trails in the North Bay
680 trail which is a pretty technical and but grade fairly mellow. We
continue to add more punishment and enjoyment to the ride and continued
into China Camp, a mini mecha for mountain biking in the Bay Area.
(Possible Rivendell Extravangaza location?) We had a super late lunch by
this time Brian and I were done, Eric and Carlin felt fine and continued
the ride. We opted for the multi-modal ride and took the bus back to SF.

All in all a great ride. Despite the flats and the late lunch it was a
blast to be riding with folks that don't mind going further to ride a good
amount of dirt.

Pictures proved that any dirt is good dirt:
