I really think is is turning into a thing. I used to get up before dawn
only by accident, insomnia, or for travel--I'm boggled that:

1) I'd do it
2) Others would too

And now I'm tickled pink, of course, that I get to see my pals more often,
at that most quiet and peaceful time of the day.

There were four of us:

Andy on his custom Jackalope,
Tommy on his Bombadil,
Kelley on her Schwinn tourer,
and me on my Hilsen.

The climb up to Mt Tabor was wonderful--I was running a bit late so I took
a more steep approach, but the trails are in fine condition (packed dirt).
My climb took me past one of the reservoirs of the City of Portland water
system: it had been drained for work, and so had an eerie took to it. Tommy
and Andy were already on the summit when I arrived. Shortly after I started
my stove, I heard the sound of squealing brake pads, when Kelley rolled in.
Fog had enveloped the summit, but the sun burned it away just around the
time we were pouring our coffees. Gleeful picture taking ensued.

Our ride down was more leisurely. I think only Andy took a set of stairs
down. We descended as a group past another, this time full reservoir,
parting ways when we hit the city grid.

All in all, a wonderful time. If you're in Portland and are curious, mark
your calendars for next Tuesday.

Pictures proved it happened:
