My all time favorite "sweaters" are the lightest weight (200g/m) zip neck "base layers" from Woolpower. They are out of Sweden, I believe, but there are a few places that sell it on the interwebs. Most of mine were purchased from Granfors Bruks (lately "famous" in these circles for making the axes that Rivendell seems to be so besotted over these days...) http://www.woolpower.se/en/ http://www.woolpower.se/en/products/base-layer-garments/zip-turtleneck-200/ http://216.147.25.196/klar.html They are almost ethereal: a woolen version of Mithril, if you will. Not the cheapest thing you'll ever find, but worth every penny. Super lightweight, breathable, and, if I say so my damned self, quite pleasing on the eye. I wear one over a regular old T shirt just about every day from October until April. NB: I have one of the 400g/m sweaters as well and it is just too dang warm to wear in anything but the most frigid of Scandinavian wind storms. That one, covered by a rain/wind shell, is as warm as any winter coat I have ever owned. And I live in New England... The 200g/m is a perfect garment. Cheers- Mike in Htfd, CT
