Ken A Pannier or Handlebar bag is not a foolproof way by any means. The first day I rode in with my MacBook in the rear pannier with the protective neoprene zip bag Apple sells and the Styrofoam pad they ship them with, produced a blemish in the screen caused by an edge or an end of the pannier tubing or bag hardware. Fortunately it didn't deter performance and is most noticeable when starting up and from the outside of the case. I think a devoted single or double shoulder strapped laptop bag would be the best.
