Hi Patrick, There are a continuum of of possibilities for hand positions in the standard or inverted configurations. I was not using them in the standard configuration. I organized things so that being on the grips was optimal for me. Moving out to the hooks made me too far and too low at the same time. Inverting the bars, and raising the stem so I still had my good grip position put the hook position in a much more comfortable place. Between the grips and the hooks is now more comfortable. It's probably just me. I would not prescribe it or preach it to the rest of our folks, but it is something to try. And it does present a different ascetic approach to bars.
