Evan & I wanted to do an LA Urban ride, so that's what we did. Met Evan @ Pershing Sq then had coffee. Rode through China Town to the LA river trail to Griffith Park. The bump was climbing the back side up Garbage Truck road to the Observatory for some vista's of the LA basin then down into Silver Lake for Lunch and a visit to Golden Saddle Cyclery.

The Saddle was great and got a chance to talk with Kyle the owner and chat about his recent S720 to Messenger Flats and area in the Angeles Forest.

We then ended our ride in China Town. No hoisting beers together on this one but we have plans for one where brews will be had.

A leisurely 30 mile ramble.

Hugh,

I was counting bikes and pedestrians yesterday on the LA River bike path around 11 a.m. at Steelhead Park, near the south entrance to the bike path. A pair of cyclists came by, riding bikes that look like your and Evan's bikes, and commented about my Miata tied up nearby, "What do we have here?" From your photos, looks like you just left Chinatown heading north towards Griffith Park.
