Per a couple of recent threads on Albastaches and too-fat tires, I've
recently trimmed down the Hunqapillar for the winter commute. I removed
the rear rack and set up the Toplight Line Plus light on a homemade
temporary bracket until I find a more elegant solution, but I really like
this bike with no rear rack. I also removed the large Wald front basket
and I'm just strapping down a ShopSack for the commute. It felt so right
on my commute test run on Friday that I felt like I hit the jackpot of fit!

The 40mm MSO tires and the Albastaches make this bike steer (no shimmy)
like it's on rails, plus the lighter, suppler tires help it roll as fast as
my Hilsen on Cypres tires. Best combination I've ridden so far. The front
V-Brake also helps (no shudder) stop it like it's hot.

I had been riding Albatross bars for the past few months, but I haven't
been able to get comfortable with the rise at the front bends that roll my
hands inward in an awkward way. I really use the front bend position, and
the Albastaches have it right - it feels way more natural for my wrists
when I'm in the bends. The added width from the original moustache bars
helps, too. This set up is a keeper...
