I use an Arkel Commuter <http://www.arkel-od.com/us/commuting-bike-bag.html>pannier for a full-size, builds-upper-body-strength, nobody-would-mistake-it-for-tablet Dell laptop. The built-in laptop pocket not only has protected the device against normal road vibration, but also brought it through a couple of (low-speed) crashes unscathed. Functional and likable.
