Great news! At this point it's too late to change anything if it needs changing, so go with watchyagot with wild abandon! You'll learn a ton about what problems you had and then you can try and figure out what to change sooner for the next one. Go prepared for wild, wondrous adventure and you won't be disappointed.
Things to watch for that are common problems (nearly all of them relate to needing to operate aerobically rather than anaerobically, which requires time to shift to improve next time): -- Too fast too soon. The body is build to handle long distances by staying within the aerobic threshold (Phil Maffetone defines this as 180 beats per minute minus your age). With proper training, we build our aerobic base so that we go faster with that same amount of effort. -- Crashing/Bonking: this happens when your body runs out of glucose. If you eat mostly carbohydrates, you are nearly always burning glucose rather than fat. Fat is much better endurance fuel. A low carb diet or a diet that includes regular fasting (or both) returns your body to the fat burning machine it is built to be. -- Drink to thirst: when you burn mostly carbs, the body requires a LOT more water than when it is burning mostly fat, so the advice to drink X oz of water per hour is bogus and can lead to over hydration. Learn to drink to thirst and life is much, much simpler. "Waterlogged" by Noakes is an excellent read. Ride with abandon!
