I was really surprised Anne - he has the real commuting experience going back to college days. He taught me to control lanes downtown where bicycles mesh with the auto queue. He just wasn't thinking and took the curb as a "defensive", in this case, bad habit. Once he got there, his ethic is to hold in the auto queue and never pass standing traffic on the curb, which is a good ethic.
