Ryan:

I have Rivendell's Hobo bag & it's somewhat larger. As Steve pointed out,
it's taller. Acorn lists 4.5 liters capacity & somewhere I recall the Hobo
at around 7 liters (excluding the pockets). The Hobo will hold 2 750 ml
wine bottles but that's max. It is tall enough to just barely handle a Fed
Ex letter envelope; maybe the zipper doesn't close though.

My Hobo is now a saddlebag supported by a rear rack. When it was on the
front of my 58 cm Atlantis, it sat on a Nitto small front rack, so it's
quite a bit taller than the Acorn looks in their photo. Thinking back, the
Hobo tended to flop on the handlebars & I couldn't work out the
handlebar-to-D-ring connection to my liking. It's deep enough that
something heavy like a lock can get it to swinging easily without
additional stabilization.

FWIW, we have a couple of Acorn bags & like them a lot. They are well
thought out & well made. Since you're familiar with this one, maybe hold
out for the next run? Another option is I think Frost River (?) has one
similar to the Hobo but there's something goofy about the pockets being on
the wrong side.
