don't forget pedals - my buddy stopped in a ride 3 times because his 
bottom-dead-center creek was getting worse - the week before he borrowed my 
torque wrench to tighten it.  He was ready to turn around, but we found 
grease exuding from one of his pedals - the pedal bearing was dry.
