I took the train from Portland to Seattle Friday to make some new friends.

The weather was fantastic--clear skies and warm days. We crossed Puget
Sound on the Bainbridge Island ferry, and rode along the western short to
Fay Bainbridge park. There was firewood and whisky, and a great time.

The next morning, the whole crew rolled down to downtown Winslow for coffee
and a snack--three of us stayed on the island, making a loop towards the
eastern part of the island, through some nice hills and farmland.
Absolutely wonderful setting. We achieved our objective, which was a cheese
shop in Lynwood Center.

The ride back took us on a short detour on some gravel that winds its way
through side yards and the shoreline. Excellent!

I personally rode around Seattle for a few hours before my train back to
Portland, and soaked my feet in Lake Union.
