I have done the Grizzly Peak Century four times. It's pretty hilly and I get by fine on my Sam with Albatross bars. I often get remarks of how comfortable I look. I notice most people ride the hoods of their drop bars which doesn't look that much different from my position #2 at the front part of the bar. I don't usually ride that far and we could talk about why someone would, but I am pretty sure if I became interested in long rides I would at least look into drop bars which for many many years have been people's choice for that kind of riding.
