The Central Coast has some nice rides for sure. Except Paso and Templeton get really hot in summer... like 100 degrees. How about somewhere like Huntington Lake. There are some nice backcounty roads up there including Kaiser Pass. The roads into Edison and Florence lake are remote, single lane and above 7000 ft. There are campgrounds and hotels around Huntington. There is quite a bit of climbing to Kaiser pass which is at 9184 ft.
