Smitty: you echo my sentiments exactly. I'm about as upright and laid back a
rider as anyone (I even own a recumbent). All the hoopla about the Bosco had me
wondering so I decided to order one from and get some hands on experience with
it. After some tests this morning, I ruled it out immediately. In fact, I can't
imagine myself using this thing on any "normal" bike. It's just too swept back,
interferes with pedaling/knees on tight turns and puts my hands way too far
back when climbing out of the saddle--which makes for an awkward, ineffective
position. In all these situations, the a-bar is far better--even ideal. Also,
the a-bar has a better selection of hand positions. So it's a hands down
winner. Of course, this is all subjective.

Nevertheless, my 2 cents: I see the Bosco as a specialty bar that is made for
bikes with unusual geometry or for riders with special needs (top tube on bike
that otherwise well fits being way too long, for torso/arms, for example).
