I'm about to toss in the towel on the Midge myself. I wanted so badly for these
bars to work for me. Built up a new (to me) Soma Double Cross with them. Tried
several different angles, feeling too stretched out and low with a longish
Salsa stem so went to a 90mm/35 degree stem, now too cramped and after 20 mile
ride contributed to worst lower back pain I've had in a couple years. Done a
couple longer rides, lots of shorter ones....Just about resigned to the fact
that the Midge is not for me. Gonna try a 110/35 degree stem but not holding
out a lot of hope. It may just be that they are not made for a road style bike
with a horizontal top tube; I think it's just too convoluted to try to get the
drops as high as they need to be without compromising the handling of the bike.

Still want to try them on a mountain bike, though.

Back to the Bell Lap, I'm thinking...
