Answering both questions below: how to get in on "next event"? The invitation was posted to this list so one just says yes and waits for details. Next east event is not yet planned, though.
"Cool weather gear" - our Delaware Water Gap ride was April 13-14, less than 10 days ago. This being mid-Atlantic U.S., we get amazingly variable weather every spring. Temps were in the 70's the week prior to the ride, but on both mornings of our ride, we started in the cloudy (clouds do make a difference in how it feels) mid-40's, rising to afternoon, very comfortable mid-60's. No inclement weather, just chilly in the morning.

Looks like my kind of ride. Interesting I rode 4 days ago and it was in the upper 70's then I see all of you with cool weather gear and it just doesn't compute :-) I keep thinking your ride was in December?? Then realize most of the country is still getting inclement weather.
