Andy:

Good call.  I've used both 35 and 40 mm Marathon Supremes in all sorts of 
conditions (loaded touring, off-road, etc) and prefer the 40s.  Even though 
they are only a bit bigger, the wear measurably longer.  My last 40 mm 
front went over 11,000 miles with no flats.  Likely that's sheer blind 
luck, never to be repeated.
