Living in the mountains of Colorado, snow is a riding reality at least 6 months out of the year. While I generally avoid the major roads when it's snowy for not trusting drivers, I do ride in our wee town, which includes a short fire road to the town water tower and a few trail heads.
The main issue I've encountered is brakes that get powered snow under the pads and then fail to grip the rim well. Any tips there are greatly appreciated. I've found wet snow not to have this issue, as it acts more like rain on the brakes. I ride fat Duremes and have cantilever brakes.
