I road it last October and was glad to have the BA's. Then again for touring I don't think they slow me down either. With 70 pounds on the bike the Big Apples just make it more stable, with less worries. I also road them on the Alaska trip. I've also ridden the GAP on 700x35's .. I'll take the 50's even 60's.
