Rides nicely. I've taken it on a couple of rides downtown.

Yes, the kickstand is not original I could take it off, but for a bike like 
this it's functional. My guess is that it didn't come with a kickstand 
originally.

Regarding the tubing, my "tinking the tubes" test tells me it's not 
double-butted. That's in keeping with the original function--taking a student 
around campus in Italy. Nice to imagine some of the scenery this bike saw back 
in the day.
