The 2TT seems to work on my Bombadil. Would the bike the the same without
it. I don't know as I haven't cut it off to find out. Is it an antiquated
design? (candles vs light bulbs) I doubt it as it does show remarkable
differences to me when loaded with 70lbs compared to other single top tube
touring bikes I've loaded. Does it look good... your choice... since I
like it your thoughts on looks are your own.. Is it overly stiff.. hell
no! Kinda like folks telling me I don't need a 11 on the rear cassette.
Obviously they know not what they say.. for me. Nor do they know what
they say about 2TT's beyond what they like or dislike. So embrace the 2TT
in you.

I have several bikes .. there are things about my Bombadil I don't like...
to much seat post for one.. ahhh thinking of 68cm 2TT Atlantis with mid
fork braze ons ... and with an 11x36 rear.. no not needed but I'm bull
headed and will put it on just to get the snarky comments about not needing
it. :) Trouble is the Bombadil has delivered beyond expectations and
performed flawlessly... and a bit more seat post leaves room to stack more
stuff on the rear rack and shows off the lugged seat post.. sweet...

I do not see any reason for someone to own a purple bicycle. Don't you
know that purple paint weighs more, is less aerodynamic, went out of style
with checker board square shorts, and fugly to boot. You should be ashamed
of your bad self and go back to lighting your house with candles. Though
you might want to consider checking the batteries in your smoke detectors
first.

So I'm off to ride.. had fun... next thread needs to be helmets .. trail ..
or hey.... threaded vs thread-less headsets... or .. take your time though
there is plenty of 2TT material as yet on explored today.
